Welcome to Little Learners Preschool!
Please allow me to introduce myself:
I believe that Jesus Christ is Lord. I am also a mom, with a wonderful husband of 14 years, and we have two wonderful children.
I decided to start an in home preschool on our 7 acres when my little boy was 2 ½ yrs old. Previously, I was a preschool teacher and then a part time Elementary school teacher for many years. I have my B.A in child development. I went on to obtain my credential and Masters in Teaching. Then when my son was born I became a stay at home mom for a few years before reigniting my passion to teach young children. I found I was able to do this while at home.
Our preschool has grown and has been helping prepare young children for Kindergarten in a fun and hand on way.
Our family consists of my wonderful husband our little boy who is 5 and our little girl who 3. The purpose of this blog is to share the projects and lessons that we do on a daily basis. In addition, my husband and I have had a few struggles along the way and I will give you a little insight into our life and how we handle the stress of daily life. I hope that you will join us in our journey to enjoy the small victories and little moments.
About my son:
First we have Lego man. He is my first born, 5 yrs old. He loves baseball, the Lego movie, and the Avengers. He can build just about anything out of Legos and enjoys thinking of new toys that he can build. He has a wonderful imagination and while at preschool he often has about 8 or 9 friends that are running around with him playing something magical.
The other day he had many of the preschool friends pull a small part of a tree off and stood in a circle and held up their tree pieces. Later they told me that their tree pieces were magical and gave them life along with special powers. Those powers allowed all the children that had them go to heaven when they got really really old. It was so amazing to see all the children in a circle holding the tree leaves up. Like something magical was happening.
About my daughter:
Next, we have Mini Mouse. She is 3 yrs old and loves everything Frozen, dolls, and Mini Mouse. She says she wants to go to Disneyland so she can meet Mini and Mickey Mouse. She of course is singing the frozen song almost non-stop. She enjoys playing with other children her age and older.
Often when she is playing if the other child isn't talking she comes to let me know. I let her know that sometimes other students are shy and to just give them a little time. She has a very advanced vocabulary for her age since she has been exposed to preschool and many children since she was 3 months old. I actually used the Moby wrap and wore her the first year of preschool. Consequently she hardly ever gets sick.
